Visiting Bordeaux

Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer

One of the best thing about travelling is to be able to share great moments with your friends, family or your other half. At the end of the day the best souvenirs you can get from your trip are great moments you shared, because it stays with you in your mind and when it starts to fade away you can look back at the pictures and videos. Pictures, are souvenirs that money can’t buy they are very precious to me.

This weekend I went to a small trip to Bordeaux with 5 of my girlfriends. Even though it wasn’t a destination at other end of the world it was a very special trip filled with great laughs, girls night talk, and shopping.

Illustrating the trip with a few pictures :

“Miroir d’eau” by day

The Miroir d’eau is the worlds biggest reflecting pool. It is called mirror because it reflects the beautiful “Place de la bourse” situated just in front of it. We were very lucky to be there in a very hot day to experiences the  fog created by the “Miroir d’eau”

“Miroir d’eau” by night

To be able to see the ” Place de la Bourse” reflecting on the pool we had to come back in the evening to take this beautiful picture.

Dune of Pilat

The ” Dune of Pilat” is the tallest sand dune in Europe. It is situated in a town called “Arcachon”. We took a train from Bordeaux to Arcachon and it took us about 1h30 to get there. It is indeed a very beautiful place, but if I had to give you one advice is not to go there on a very hot whether as we did… Because it takes much more effort to climb the dune! One of the great thing about this dune is the beach situated on the other side ( if you have enough courage to climb back up the dune) you can take a swim or rest on the beach.

You can choose to climb by stairs or by sand

Discovering Brussels

I made a tiny little trip with my boyfriend in Belgium yesterday. Here are a few snapshots we took during this trip. It is only 3 hours drive from Paris to Brussels, but we had some heavy traffic when we arrived Brussels. So it took us 4 hours to get there.

  1. So the first thing we wanted to do was EAT and we had in mind that in Brussels we have to eat fries, mussels and waffles : CHECKED

4. And finally I did some shopping, in Primark for the majority of the things. I know we have Primark in Paris now, but i felt that we didn’t have the same things 🙂 ( this is not an excuse). And yes, I have bought the TETRIS 3DS game because I love it. It helps me to disconnect after a long day of work 🙂

I love the scarf that I bought. I know it is very sad to buy a scarf in August but I always wanted a scarf like this and it was only 6€ 🙂

We may have missed out some places but the most important for us was to ENJOY and take some time away TOGETHER and REST!

And you, have you ever been to BRUSSELS ?

I discovered this app recently and It is quite fun. It does a pretty good job in adding false lashes and eye shadows. It can enhance your eyes and even give you double eyelid :). You can either choose a photo from your gallery or take a picture live to have fun with the app.

Here are some examples that I did 🙂

This is a picture of me that I picked in my  photo gallery

I had fun playing around with the app but I personally think that natural beauty is the most important. Learn to love yourself and the way you are !

Korean fried chicken recipe- 양념통닭-Yangnyeom Tongdak

Do you know Yangnyeom Tongdak?

It is a famous Korean fried chicken seasoned with a sweet and spicy sauce. It is often eaten as a fast food or as an appetizer with Soju and pickled radishes.

With a friend we have found a really simple recipe on the internet, and we tried it out 🙂

The ingredients we used ( 3-4 people)
  • 1.5 Kg of chicken chunks
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • flour
  • egg
  • oil
  • garlic
  • ketchup
  • baking soda
  • hot pepper paste
  • rice syrup
  • apple vinegar
  • potato starch powder
  • Sweet rice flour

In pink are the ingredients we especially went to a Korean store to buy. But you may also find those in some basic Chinese stores. Below is a pictures of how those products look like :

In paris there are many Korean stores, we went to the one situated in the Pyramide station called Kmart. Here is the address : 8 Rue Sainte-Anne, 75001 Paris

Below are the instruction we followed :

  1. Flavor the chicken : Add one teaspoon of black pepper and salt

SONY DSC2. Add ½ cup potato starch powder, ¼ cup of flour, ¼ cup sweet rice flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1 egg onto the chicken

3.Mix everything

SONY DSC

3. Fry the chicken for about 10 minutes over high heat. For a more crispy effect, you may want to fry your chicken twice.

4. Preparing the sauce : put some oil and 4 cloves of minced garlic onto a heated pan. Then Add ⅓ cup tomato ketchup, ⅓ cup rice syrup, ¼ cup hot pepper paste, 1 spoon of apple vinegar and mix everything for about 7 minutes. Keep the heat low to be be sure not to burn the sauce. ( you can prepare the sauce while frying the chicken)

5. Put the  fried chicken into the sauce and gently mix it up.

6. Optional : you can add some roasted sesame seeds for decoration

And here is the result :

Some little ideas…

Hello Guys,

I wanted to share with you a little Idea that came through my mind today. Yes it does happen sometimes 🙂

I needed to find a way to organize some of my makeups like Mascara and Eyeliner. I don’t have much space on my dressing table so I didn’t want to overstock the desk area. And the most important thing is that I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on that.

So with all that in mind, I had an idea :

I went to a random shop called Sostrene Grene where it sells all kind of things for bedroom, kitchen, bathroom for a quite cheap price. All I wanted was to find a simple jar that I can customize a little.

So this is what I bought for only 1,12€

SONY DSC

But it was a little too plain for me, so I decided to add some customization :

It was too sad to throw the lid away so I decided to use it to put some of my rings and my Pandora bracelet 🙂

TAADAAA… this is the result.

And of course it is nothing too amazing but it was enough for me and sometimes less is more 🙂

What do you think of my customization ? How do you store your makeups?

PRECIOUS MOMENTS THAT MONEY CAN’T BUY…

SONY DSC

2 years ago I did an Asia Trip with my Best Friend and her sister. The best souvenirs on holiday are pictures. You can always look back at them and remember those great moments.

I am a very nostalgic person, I love looking back at pictures and videos. Today I just had one of those moments where I randomly found an old video that I made. It reminds me how important it is to cherish people around you, and great moments can be simple as great bursts of laughter you have with your friends. No need of fancy restaurants or paradise like landscape.

WE WENT TO 4 PLACES ALTOGETHER : HONG-KONG-MACAU-SINGAPORE-TAIWAN

DO YOU HAVE THOSE NOSTALGIC MOMENTS TOO ? WHAT ARE GREAT MOMENTS FOR YOU ?
