Les Bols de Jean

Hello there,

This weekend I have tested a new  restaurant called LES BOLS DE JEAN. It is opened by a famous chief called JEAN IMBERT (who won a french cooking contest called “TOP CHEF” in 2012) and a famous baker called Eric Kayser.

If you are in Paris for holiday, or live in Paris and looking for an original frenchy restaurant then you need to test this new concept! The food is served in a bowl made of bread and you basically eat in the bowl and finally eat the bowl itself :). You have a variety of choices, and I tried the Christmas Bowl. It was just delicious !

The prices are reasonable, it goes from 7€ to 15€ (only the bowl). It is a good alternative to a burger or a sandwich. I will for sure go back to test another bowl :).

Please find below the address :
2 Rue de Choiseul
75002 Paris

Bon appétit !

DIY Heart shaped candle holder

We are only in September but it seems like spring has already settled down.  Every seasons has something to offer. When temperature gets cold I like to light candles at home. Candles can also be a good way to decorate your house. Here is a quick DIY idea you can do to decorate your little candles.

All you need is some cardboard paper, a pair of scissors some glue and some inspirations :). For this tutorial I used a fake candle but you of course use a real one !

Surround your candle with some cardboard paper

Cut, fold and glue

Glue the heart shapes to the candle et Voila !

Here is another example that I did 🙂

Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the single candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared  🙂

Time flies- Graduation day

Hop back into the time with TIMEHOP

Time flies so quickly that you don’t even notice. Tonight, was one of those nights where I looked at my TIMEHOP app to see what had happened on the same date 1 to 5 years ago. And check out the picture that I have found 🙂

YES ! I got graduated 2 years ago, actually it was more than 2 years ago but our graduation ceremony was held the year after. So nostalgic! Gosh, 3 years already that I have been graduated and working… I sometimes miss my student life, going to Starbucks after school to study but finally ending up chatting and studying until no time in the evening for exams 🙂
Working is not bad though, it is different, it is another part of your life. You start to be really independent because you start to earn your own money.  Every part of your life is important, so ENJOY YOUR STUDENT LIFE!

Inspiring Life quote

Le bonheurest souvent la seule chose qu’on puisse donner sans l’avoir et, c’est en le donnant qu’on l’acquiert.

Happiness is often the only thing that can be given without having, and it is by giving that we acquired it.

I find this quote very true, I feel that the more you give away happiness the more you will receive in return.  Happiness is very generous, you just need to understand how it works. Yet it is so simple, happiness can be as easy as making someone smile. For example, I feel happier by seeing the person receiving my gift happy then receiving my own gift :). We all have those kind of experiences, we just need to take some time and look back at those little moments. BUT, this doesn’t work if you are giving and waiting something in return, it should be without any afterthought.

Happiness is not related to any kind of money, you can be poor and still be happy and give away happiness. Some surveys shows that less-developed nations are much happier than developed ones. Africa was the happiest region at 83 per cent, followed by Asia on 77 per cent.  And the top country to be the happiest is FIJI, 93 per cent of people say they are happy or very happy. By seeing some of the pictures, I can understand why… 🙂

How do you find this quote ?

How to resize your rings

Do you have small fingers too ?

Rings never fit you ? Even the “S” size ?

Or have YOU EVER HAD crushes on rings but they never fit  ?

Here are the 2 tips :

1.Using nail polish

The first tip can be used if you want to resize your ring only a little or if you have thin rings. All you need is transparent nail polish and of course your ring.

The idea is to put some nail polish on the inner part of your ring to create an extra layer.    Once you have put the first layer, let it dry for about 5-10 minutes. You can then try your ring on. If this first layer is not enough you can start over the same process until you are satisfy. Personally I have put 3 layers on my ring to make it fit.

2. Using sellotape

This 2nd tip can be used for big rings and all you need is some sellotape.

All you need to do is to cut some sellotape, roll it up so that it makes a double sided adhesive.Insert the sellotape on the inner part of your ring, it should be ideally placed on the bigger part of the ring so that it doesn’t show when you wear your ring.

You can then enjoy wearing your rings without being scared of loosing them 🙂

Now I enjoy more than ever buying new rings ? but my purse is less happy 🙂

This is how i Enjoy The Little Things

Visiting Bordeaux

Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer

One of the best thing about travelling is to be able to share great moments with your friends, family or your other half. At the end of the day the best souvenirs you can get from your trip are great moments you shared, because it stays with you in your mind and when it starts to fade away you can look back at the pictures and videos. Pictures, are souvenirs that money can’t buy they are very precious to me.

This weekend I went to a small trip to Bordeaux with 5 of my girlfriends. Even though it wasn’t a destination at other end of the world it was a very special trip filled with great laughs, girls night talk, and shopping.

Illustrating the trip with a few pictures :

“Miroir d’eau” by day

The Miroir d’eau is the worlds biggest reflecting pool. It is called mirror because it reflects the beautiful “Place de la bourse” situated just in front of it. We were very lucky to be there in a very hot day to experiences the  fog created by the “Miroir d’eau”

“Miroir d’eau” by night

To be able to see the ” Place de la Bourse” reflecting on the pool we had to come back in the evening to take this beautiful picture.

Dune of Pilat

The ” Dune of Pilat” is the tallest sand dune in Europe. It is situated in a town called “Arcachon”. We took a train from Bordeaux to Arcachon and it took us about 1h30 to get there. It is indeed a very beautiful place, but if I had to give you one advice is not to go there on a very hot whether as we did… Because it takes much more effort to climb the dune! One of the great thing about this dune is the beach situated on the other side ( if you have enough courage to climb back up the dune) you can take a swim or rest on the beach.

You can choose to climb by stairs or by sand

Thank you  girls for this wonderful weekend ! 🙂

One day in Belgium- Brussels

Discovering Brussels

I made a tiny little trip with my boyfriend in Belgium yesterday. Here are a few snapshots we took during this trip. It is only 3 hours drive from Paris to Brussels, but we had some heavy traffic when we arrived Brussels. So it took us 4 hours to get there.

  1. So the first thing we wanted to do was EAT and we had in mind that in Brussels we have to eat fries, mussels and waffles : CHECKED

2. We got told that in Brussels the two things that we must visit are ” LA GRANDE PLACE” and ” MANNEKEN PIS” : CHECKED

3. We stayed in a very lovely hotel, very situated, only 10 mins walk from the center. Every room is decorated with an artist masterpiece. It is very special.

Here is the address if you are interested :

Hotel Bloom
250 Rue Royale
1210 Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Belgium

4. And finally I did some shopping, in Primark for the majority of the things. I know we have Primark in Paris now, but i felt that we didn’t have the same things 🙂 ( this is not an excuse). And yes, I have bought the TETRIS 3DS game because I love it. It helps me to disconnect after a long day of work 🙂

I love the scarf that I bought. I know it is very sad to buy a scarf in August but I always wanted a scarf like this and it was only 6€ 🙂

We may have missed out some places but the most important for us was to ENJOY and take some time away TOGETHER and REST!

And you, have you ever been to BRUSSELS ?
